West Hacks is hosted by Greens Farms Academy's Social Entrepreneurship Club (a highschool club based in Westport, Connecticut). This hackathon is open to all high school students, providing a platform to engage in create problem-solving. We want students to prepare and build a project on their own time submitted by June 1st, and then we will host a short period for them to present their projects to us.
Under this year's theme of Fintech and Education, the question we want projects to tackle this year is, how can we use technology to help teach people about finance and/or push education forward? Whether you're interested in teaching people how to manage their money or building an tool that makes acing a class easier, we want to see what you can build.
Requirements
What we're looking for: Anything related to finance or education, guided by the definitions below.
Finance: Anything that helps people understand financial literacy
Education: Build the tools for schools and students. Anything that makes learning more effective, organized, or accessible. (Does not have to be finance-related!)
Submission Requirements:
1. Video Demo: A link to a video no longer than 5 minutes. The video must include a walkthrough of the working prototype and a brief explanation.
2. Working Project: A link to the working app, a demo, or a detailed README in the repository explaining exactly how to run the project locally.
3. Public GitHub Repo: A link to a public repository containing the source code. All code must be submitted before the deadline.
4. Devpost Project Description: A completed project page including:
- What issue are you solving?
- How does your project address it?
- What was the hardest part of the build?
